The total amount of checks drawn on the bank accounts of the Marvell-Elaine School District are $471,665.54.

According to the Arkansas Legislative Audit (ALA), Poor was recording these unauthorized disbursements (checks) as utility payments to Entergy in the districts accounting systems. Poor would then change the payee from “Entergy” to “April Poor”, endorse the checks, then deposit into one of two different bank accounts.

Poor was arrested on March 13, 2019. Formal charges have now been filed in Circuit Court by Murray’s office.
