DeWitt PD Recovers Stolen Property – Three People Charged
On Monday, July 25, 2022, a report was filed with the DeWitt Police Department regarding stolen property from Grower’s Elevator. The property was reported to have been stolen between the late-night hours of Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23.
DeWitt Police Department was quick to recover the stolen property, estimating approximately $1,600, and three individuals have been booked on charges relating to the theft.
“I am very happy with the department and how fast they were able to recover the stolen property,” stated Chief of Police, Steven Bobo. “Thefts are down in our city and I’m proud of all our officers.”
Josh Beliew and William Murray were both charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property and Melanie Woods has been charged with Theft by Receiving.
CID Bradley Wilson stated, “Anyone with information regarding stolen property is always kept confidential. Our main goal is to get stolen property back.”
