Brenda Joyce McCarty

Brenda Joyce McCarty was born on December 23, 1955, and went to her heavenly home on October 29, 2023, at the age of 67 years old. Brenda was born and raised in DeWitt Arkansas. On December 27, 1971, she married the love of her life Kenneth McCarty. They had two children, one son Scott (Shannon) McCarty and one daughter Lori McCarty both from DeWitt and one very special god son Russie West (Charlene) from DeWitt. Brenda opened a home Nanny’s daycare in 1993 and had to close when she was diagnosed with dementia in 2019. She loved babysitting kids, and they loved her. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and nanny. She loved her family with her whole heart.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Bertha Mae Ward; two brothers Luther Ward and Eugene Ward; two sisters Mable Maugans and Lelisa Hearington.

Surviving sisters Delois (Tim) Cox and Juanita Holbert from Dewitt, Helen (Norman) Birch from Missouri; surviving brothers James (Brenda) Ward of DeWitt, Arkansas, Leslie (Irene) Ward of Star City, Arkansas, and Homer Ward and Lee (Sharon) Ward of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. But her pride and joy were her grandkids Spencer (Kaylee) McCarty, Mika Dondanville, Madison McCarty, and Skylar McCarty, and her great-grandkids Declan McCarty and Emberlyn Paige McCarty all of Dewitt.
