Carolyn Brown Sullivan

Carolyn Brown Sullivan, 79, of Gillett, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was born October 10, 1944, in DeWitt, Arkansas, to Willam Harold “Hunch” Brown and Mona Dean Mullen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jodie Raymond Sullivan; two brothers, Jim Brown and Robert “Bob” Brown; and a sister, Mona Sue Harris.

She is survived by a brother, Bill Brown (Sue) of Mountain View, AR; a sister, Patti Grice of Heber Springs, AR; and a sister-in-law, Ann Brown of Gould, AR. Two children also survive her; Dena Marie Townsley (Mark) of Franklin, TN, and Walter Raymond “Walt” Sullivan (Marsha) of Gillett, AR. Four grandchildren who were the light of her life survive her; Grayson Alexander Townsley of Bowling Green, KY; Raymond Alexander “Alex” Sullivan of Gillett, AR; Hayden Montgomery Townsley of Franklin, TN; and Emma Grace Sullivan of Gillett, AR. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, work family, and friends.

Carolyn graduated from Gillett High School and worked for the Planters and Merchants Bank of Gillett for 27 years. She then began working at the DeWitt Hospital and Nursing Home until her death. Over the years she was involved in many activities; the Gillett School Board, the DeWitt Hospital Board, a justice of the peace, and a Sunday School Teacher.

Funeral services were February 17, at the First Baptist Church in Gillett, AR. Burial was in Gillett Cemetery in Gillett, AR.
