Hampton Raises Over $1200 During Annual Lemonade Stand

by Charlotte Purdy

For the past three years, Avery Hampton has hosted a Lemonade Stand at Lodges Corner to raise money to help fill different needs within the community of DeWitt. The first two years, Hampton raised money to use for the backpack program at DeWitt Elementary School. This year’s fundraiser was focused on raising money for the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry in DeWitt.

Through this year’s lemonade stand, Hampton raised a total of $1,260.00 which is almost double from what she raised last year.

Hampton, her Mom, and a few of the ladies at her church volunteered at the food pantry and Hampton noticed that there weren’t enough kid packs to give out to all the kids. That is when she decided to use the money from this year’s fundraiser to purchase items to make additional kid packs.

Each of the kid packs includes granola bars, fruit gummies, juice, peanut butter crackers, and a package of cookies. The packs were put together by Hampton, and her Mom, with the help of the Women of Faith Group and the first installment was delivered to the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry on Friday, August 2, 2019.
Hampton wants to thank everyone for their generosity and help during her annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser! Avery is the daughter of Sloan and Rhonda Hampton.
