ARKANSAS SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES SEMINAR

The Arkansas Soybean Association has set Tuesday, January 14 as the date of their Annual Business Session and Seminar. The informative seminar and business session will be held at the Grand Prairie Center (2709 Hwy 165 South) in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., program at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude with lunch. Lunch will be provided by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board and meeting sponsors.

The program will include a report from the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board and recognition of the Grow for the Green Soybean Yield Challenge winners. Dr. Jeremy Ross will present an overview of the contest and guide a panel discussion with some of the 2019 100-bushel winners: Matt Miles, Robb Dedman, Drew Counce and Brandon Cain. Speakers scheduled at this time are Wes Ward, Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture, Derek Haigwood, Chairman of the United States Soybean Export Council (USSEC), and Hanna Abou-El-Seoud, Director of International Trade Policy, American Soybean Association.

Topics will include an update on global trade and information on trade policy for 2020. The Soybean Association will hold its Annual Business Session of membership. During this meeting, the winners of the 2019 Grow for the Green Yield Challenge will be recognized along with the newest 100 Bushel Club Members: Brandon Cain, Des Arc; Mark Welty, Lake Village; Billy Garner Estate, McGehee; Drew Counce, DeWitt. Matt Miles will also be recognized for achieving the 120 Bushel/Acre level. The 2020 DuPont Young Leader, Caper Robertson from Watson will also be recognized.

Ag business reps will be present to answer your questions. We will also be holding a live auction to raise additional funds for special projects. Auction items, provided by members of the soybean industry, include soybean seed, crop protection chemicals, fish cookers, pearls, and many other similar items.

Arkansas President AJ Hood said recently, “This is a busy time of year for all producers and we have designed our meeting to meet the needs of our membership. We are providing information we feel is important to producers in a half day.”
