Mary Jean Hatch

Mary Jean Hatch was born November 28, 1950, to Mose and Arzine Keaton Hatch in Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas. She passed October 8, 2022 at Baptist Health, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Mary was a proud graduate of DeWitt High School, Class of 1968. Until the end, the color blue, representing the DeWitt Dragons, was her favorite color. She also attended UAPB, with a major in Elementary Education.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Poplar Creek MB Church in Crocketts Bluff. She was a faithful member and worked on various programs at the church. She especially enjoyed serving as chairman on the Shiloh Cemetery Committee. Each year for Poplar Creek’s cemetery rally, Mary collected donations from various businesses in DeWitt and Stuttgart.

Mary loved caring for people; she worked at nursing homes in DeWitt and Stuttgart. However, she spent the last fifteen years, before retiring, in Dietary at Stuttgart Baptist Medical Center. She truly enjoyed going to work each day.

When Mary’s health started declining, she moved into Forrest Manor in Stuttgart, a residential living facility, where she made many friends who loved her dearly. She also joined Allen Temple Missionary Baptist MB Church, where she was a member until her passing.

Preceding her in death were her parents and special friend John Dixon.

Left to cherish her memories are brothers Clarence (Ethel) Hatch and Cleveland (Annie) Hatch; sister Shela Hatch; nephews Rashad (LaShonda) Hatch, Byron (Marla) Hatch, Adrian Wofford, and Alexander (Marybeth) Hatch; nieces Rashunda Hatch and Tequila Hatch; great-nieces and nephews McKinley, Brooklyn, Baylee, Maelea, Phierce, Myles, and Ayden; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service held October 15, 2022, 1pm at Allen Temple MB Church, Stuttgart. Interment at Shiloh Cemetery in Crocketts Bluff, AR.
