Local youth Weslie Jane Long and Ava-Grace Grantham attended a sewing class in Benton and received sewing machines at the end of the class. Since then, they have been diligently making “fur baby beds” for the Friends of the Animal Village in Little Rock, AR.

The girls spent five Saturdays making three different size beds for the animals at the shelter and have made more than 20 beds! The beds are made from of old t-shirts, used clothing, and fabric scraps and with an embroidery machine, Long and Grantham include a logo they created.

The quote “Never get tired of doing little things for others, sometimes those little things occupy the biggest parts of their hearts.” author Unknown, comes to my mind. The two young ladies are doing simple acts of kindness and are more assuredly making a difference in animal’s lives by giving them a comfy bed!
