Dorothy Lloyd Matlock

Dorothy Lloyd Matlock was born February 22, 1942, to the late Odis and Izora Wilder Lloyd in Ethel, Arkansas. Dorothy departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dorothy was a faithful member of Victors’ Empowerment Center, under the leadership of Apostle Victor E. Johnson, until her death. She worked for over twenty-six years at Riceland Foods Inc. as a packer, until her retirement.

Dorothy loved to shop at Dillard’s, JCPenney, Belk, and Walmart. She loved buying shoes, suits, and matching jewelry.

Affectionately known as Aunt Dee, she enjoyed baking cakes and pies, as well as decorating her house and her niece’s house.

Dororthy was preceded in death by her loving parents Odis and Izora Lloyd, sister Shirley Scaife, brother Odis Lloyd, Jr., niece Shelia Harper, aunt Inella Wilder, uncles Wesley Wilder and Cleo Wilder, and nephew Kerry D. Griffo.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her stepson and daughter-in-law Eric and Robin Matlock of Warrenville, OH; granddaughters Riley Matlock and Nia Matlock, both of Warrenville, OH; two sisters Mary Lois Stigger of Sherwood, AR and JoAnne (Larry) Loudermilk of Stuttgart, AR; sister-in-law Nancy Lloyd of Stuttgart, AR; Goddaughters (nieces) LaVonda Taylor and Kawanda Wofford, both of Stuttgart, AR; a special cousin raised as her sister Emma Farrow of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend for many years Chestine McCastle of Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, 11am at Victors' Empowerment Center, Stuttgart.
