Johnny Edward Wood
Johnny Edward Wood, 91, of Stuttgart, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023. Johnny was born on May 29, 1931, in Reydell, AR, to the late Jessie and Mellie Wood. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Wood; infant son, Joe Eddie Wood; and several brothers and sisters.
Johnny was a lifelong farmer and owned J & J Trailer Sales. He was a founding member of Stuttgart Harvest Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a military medic.
Johnny loved the outdoors, and hunting and fishing. He was a founding member of Benson Lake Hunting Club.
Johnny was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his children Pam Hogue (Mike) of Bryant, David Wood (DeAnn) of Greenbriar, and Todd Wood (Edith) of Crocketts Bluff; sisters Evelyn Theis of Conway and Carol Carver (Amos) of Lowell; grandchildren Aerial Guffey, Candice Boston (Clint), Dylan Hogue, Cody Wood (Catherine), Jake Hogue (Brooke), Colton Wood (Logan), and Logan Wood (Loran); and great grandchildren Lakynn, Dean, Sam, Brooklyn, Cooper, T.C., Roman, Rhett, and River.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 2:00 p.m. with burial in DeWitt Cemetery. www.essexfuneral.com
