March 01, 2023

On February 17, 2023, Detective Bradley Wilson, Patrolman Jamie Irons, and Patrolman Logan Jones made contact with Bruce Wyatt and TJ Dabner who were parked in a vehicle near the intersection of North Cedar Street and Maxwell Avenue. Dabner was placed under arrest in reference to a felony battery investigation and Wyatt was arrested a short time later after fleeing from officers on foot.

The vehicle occupied by them was searched due to a strong odor of Marijuana. During the search, currency, cell phones, baggies, digital scales, and suspected Marijuana was located. Due to the items discovered, Detective Wilson obtained a search warrant for Wyatt’s residence. During the search of Wyatt’s residence, the officers located currency, suspected Crack Cocaine, suspected Marijuana, and a handgun with a loaded magazine.

Items seized from the incidents totaled to over half a pound of suspected Marijuana, 28.3 grams of suspected Crack Cocaine, paraphernalia, cell phones, the vehicle, and $6,266 in cash.

“If anyone distributes illegal or controlled substances in DeWitt, this is the only warning. This work will continue to happen and anyone in violation will be caught and prosecuted,” stated Detective Wilson.
