Norma Lee Abel Young, Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Daughter & Friend passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2023.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, who was also the love of her life, George W. Young and her sisters Dorothy Meyer & Laura Wittorff.

Norma is survived by her beloved children & their families. Daughter Debbie Turner of North Little Rock, AR., Marsha Carter of Natchez, MS. & Carol (Robert) Jones of Bryant, AR as well as her brother Ed (Pat) Abel & sister Delores (Bill) Ottenad. Her Grandchildren, Naomi (John) Parker, Angie Turner (Doug Alexander), Leah Foster, Gabe (Angie) Carter & Tyler Carter. Great-grandchildren, Tristan Norman, Ryan Parker, August Alexander, Aiden, Finn & Emerson Foster, Gavin & Austin Mayhew. Last but certainly not least, her three grand-dogs Sully, Bailey & Astro Jones.

Born October 29, 1928 in Stuttgart AR., to Edward W. & Emilia Schmidt Abel - Norma was a dedicated homemaker who provided a loving home & was proud of the family she & her husband George raised. She was active in the lives of her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was a woman of faith who served in many capacities. These include but where not limited to, Emanuel Lutheran Church Altar Gild, Sunday school teacher, Jr. Girl Scout leader, Band Parent, and Sorority Mother. In her later years her and George moved to Hot Springs, AR where she joined the Emblem Club & enjoyed her lunch outings with her fun loving “Red Hat” ladies. An avid Razorback fan, Norma never missed a chance to watch her beloved Hogs. She was incredibly knowledgeable about sports and always offered insight into the teams, programs, and players to those around her. Norma will be deeply missed by her family & friends. Anyone that knew her was truly blessed because she loved so many like they were her own.

A Family Graveside Memorial & Burial will be held at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, AR, at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers you please make memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
