Daniel Brunson, Jr.

Daniel Brunson, Jr. was born November 4, 1953, to Daniel and Virgilene Brunson, Sr. in Ethel, Arkansas. He was baptized at an early age and remained a lifetime member of New Hope M.B. Church in Ethel.

Affectionately known as Boonie, Daniel was a Man of God who lived according to God’s design Holy Bible. Daniel owned a King James Bible that he received new many years ago from the Veterans Administration. The pages are curling on the edges and the words on the cover are slightly faded. Boonie read his Bible every day. He never missed an opportunity to attend Church and was very active with the youth in the church. His faith allowed him to let God’s love flow through him. Daniel touched the heart of many by his unwavering faith. He was the perfect role model of a Christian.

He enlisted in the US Army on March 30, 1973, and served in Korea until March 28, 1975. Daniel passed on May 10, 2023 at his brother Alton Brunson’s home in DeWitt, Arkansas, where he requested to spend his last days. Eight siblings, Restee Williams, Elverlene (Evelyn) Davis, Jimmy Williams, Lee Brunson, Brenda Lewis, Alushia Robinson, Curtis Brunson, and Alton Brunson survived him, as well as Breanna Smith (niece), Chance Clark (nephew), Raquelle London (niece), and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

His parents Daniel and Virgilene Brunson and his siblings Shawn Alexander Brunson, Carolina Larry, and Rita Smith preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his legacy/children Melissa Billings and Katrina Turner and grandchildren Jeremy Green, Justin Hinton, and Annalise Winslow.

Visitation held May 19, 2023, 6:30-7:30 pm at Relerford Funeral Home, Stuttgart. Funeral Service held May 20, 2023, 2:30 pm at DeWitt Community Center, DeWitt.
