Local Youth Headed to Strike King Bassmaster High School National Championship

Two local youth are headed to the national championship fishing tournament after placing 6th at the Strike King Bassmaster High School Open that was held in Natchitoches, LA on May 7, 2023.

Landon Parker, a 9th grader, and Jake Watson, an 8th grader will compete in the Strike King Bassmaster High School National Championship on Lake Hartwell July 27th-29. Boat captain, Keith Watson, made sure the boys were in the right spots at the right time.

No spot in the national championship tournament is guaranteed. Youth must earn their spots by placing in regional opens, state tournaments, or through placement in state divisions/trails.

This is the first year of fishing the high school division for both boys and the national tournament is equivalent of the Bassmaster Classic for high school anglers. They will compete against 300+ of the best high school teams across the nation.
