It has been brought to my attention that Vaping among our young people under the age of 21 is rampant in Stuttgart, DeWitt and all points in between in Arkansas County .

Arkansas Code 6-21-609 prohibits smoking use of tobacco products vapes in any form on any property owned or leased by a public school district.

The sale of tobacco products vapes or nicotine products to a person under the age of 21 is prohibited according to Arkansas/ Federal law which supersede Arkansas law.

Even though Arkansas law bands all sales of nicotine vapes and tobacco products our children are still vaping in Stuttgart, DeWitt and else'where in Arkansas County .

Even though selling Vapes is illegal to sell to anyone under the age of 21 our youth are getting their hands on the highly addictive vapes pens.

49% of our young people under the age of 21 are or getting them from a friend or another individual and 31% are buying vape pens at retail stores, petrol stations ,tobacconist ,or convenience stores.

I am of the opinion that we can do more to protect our youth from the dangers of vaping by having our law enforcement in DeWitt, Stuttgart, and the Arkansas County Sheriff Department crackdown on those businesses who are selling vapes pens to our children under the age of 21.

We must protect our children from vaping which can harm brain development, impacts learning memory, and attention ,and increase the risk for future addiction to other drugs.

If the Stuttgart School District/The DeWitt School District are serious about vaping in our schools they would install metal detectors.

Therefore vape pens couldn't get into our schools.
