Nolan Chester Wright

Nolan Chester Wright, 71, of DeWitt passed away November 19, 2023. He was born December 29, 1951, in DeWitt to Dewey Shelton Wright and Dorothy Elizabeth James Wright.

Nolan was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. He spent most of his working life farming and trucking. He retired from John Deere. Nolan loved cutting firewood. In what little spare time he had, Nolan loved watching westerns and listening to George Jones.

His family was his biggest passion. At almost every sports event, you would see him in the stands cheering on his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Dorothy Wright; daughter Melissa Wright; nine brothers Shelton Edward, Doyle, Eugene, Thomas, Bobby, Royce, James, Johnny, and Alvie Wright; and three sisters Lucille Grissom, Luthelma Brickey, and Gladys Barrett.

He is survived by his wife Charlene McFarland Wright; one daughter Lareina Mirabella; grandkids Shelly Frye, Ethan (Karen) Jennings, Jessica Watkins, Angel Jennings, and Mallory Mirabella; great-grandkids Raedric Frye, McKinley Watkins, J'air Brown, and Daylen Brown; brothers Oscar and Luther Wright; and sisters Joanne McFarlin, Evon Watkins, and Geneva Attebery. Nolan never met a stranger and was a well-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
