Danny Dagwood Smith

Danny Dagwood Smith, 80, of St. Charles died December 17, 2023. He was born October 21, 1943, in St. Charles to James Otis and Mary Magdalene Crawford Smith and was one of the ten children born to them.

Danny, also known as Snuffy, lived his entire life in St. Charles. He loved the White River, fishing, and wildlife. He enjoyed working as a fisherman, playing cards and horse shoes, and riding around the refuge enjoying the scenery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; son John Smith; and five brothers and sisters.

Danny is survived by his children Jamie Gordon of Hot Springs, Danny Smith of St. Charles, and Nikki Byrd (Rusty) of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren Tyler Smith, Sydney Smith, Peyton Navarre, Braydon Todd (Victoria), Madison Frazier (Brandon), and Hunter Tate (Megan); six great grandchildren; two brothers Mack and Carl Smith both of Stuttgart; two sisters Maxine Oliver of White Hall and Berth Orrick of Humphrey; and many nieces and nephews.

His family and lifelong best friends will always remember how kind, humble, and funny he was to everyone. He will be truly missed.
