Steven Wayne Mannis (Bro. Steve)

Steven Wayne Mannis (Bro. Steve) went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 1, 2024. Steve was born to Henry and Treva Mannis on February 11, 1953.

He was the pastor of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and had recently resigned, but still loved being a part of and preaching when he felt up to it. He also had pastored Forks of LaGrue Missionary Baptist Church.

He loved crappie fishing with his cane pole and minnows at Horseshoe Lake. Steve was also an avid coon hunter in his younger years. He loved playing dominoes and cards, especially with Tommie Jo. He also loved his fur baby cat, Tom.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers Aurdry, Danny, Darrell, Larry, David, and Ricky Mannis, and four sisters Lorene Baxter, Maxene Grace, Gail Mannis, and Suzie McFarland.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years Tommie Jo Mannis; two daughters and sons-in-law that he was very proud of Stacy (Bobby) McPherson and Jennifer (Jody) West; four grandchildren that he adored Chloe (Cody) Blackwell, Tessah (Wyatt) Luebke, Jonah (Kiley) McPherson, and Sophie West; two great grands that brought him so much joy during his sickness, Emerson Belle and Coden Brooks Blackwell, and he had recently found out that he was going to have a new great-granddaughter in August. He is also survived by two brothers Charles Mannis and Carroll (Carolyn) Mannis.
