Michael Harvey Jacobs

Michael Harvey Jacobs, age 68, of DeWitt, AR, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at DeWitt Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Mike was born on October 3, 1955, to Allen Roger Jacobs and Elizabeth Broeks Jacobs in Stuttgart, AR.

He was a member of Faith Baptist church in DeWitt. Mike graduated from DeWitt High School in 1973 and has spent most of his life working in the field of agriculture, duck guiding, and enjoyed playing softball for 50 years. He was inducted into the Arkansas Softball Hall of Fame in 2004. He also loved being “Coach Papaw Mike” to the little league girls' softball team. He was employed by DeWitt Fertilizer Company for the past 13 years.

Mike married LouAnna Davis Stoddard on July 3, 1998.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Roger Jacobs and Elizabeth Broeks Jacobs; (2) sisters, Sandy and Judy; (1) brother, Jimmy Dale Jacobs; and (1) step-son, Brice D. Stoddard.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, LouAnna Jacobs; (1) son, Drew Jacobs (Lauren) of Stuttgart, AR; (1) step-daughter, Tawana Watson (Dean) of St. Charles, AR; (1) brother, Doug Jacobs (Debbie) of Stuttgart, AR; (1) sister, Allene Gibbs (Jim) of Vilonia, AR; (5) grandchildren, Mason, Jacie Ann, Ava, Lauren, and Madalyne; (6) great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Bricelyne, Autumn, Sawyer, Lincoln and Regan Elizabeth; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were January 19 at Faith Baptist Church with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart by Essex Funeral Home. Memorials will be made to the Faith Baptist church at 725 McAdams Rd. DeWitt, AR, 72042, or donors’ choice. www.essexfuneralhome.com
