Opening Day Victory With

Dragonettes Softball Over Beebe Varsity Badgers

DeWitt Dragonettes defeated Beebe Junior Varsity Badgers 9-1 on Monday at DeWitt High School. Khloe Lloyd was 3 for 4 at the plate as she tripled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning..

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lloyd singled, Grammer doubled, and Beebe Badgers committed an error, each scoring one run. A single by Lloyd extended the Dragonettes lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

The Dragonettes won thanks in part to five runs in the third inning. Adley Davis singled, scoring one run, AC Cox tripled, scoring two runs, Lloyd tripled, scoring one run, and Harley Grammer singled, scoring one run.

Neci Hill earned the win for the Dragonettes. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out one and walking none. Lloyd appeared in relief.

The Dragonettes amassed 11 hits in the game. Grammer led the team  with four hits in four at bats. Cox collected two hits in three at bats.

Stymied By Star City

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes couldn't keep up with Star City and fell 9-1 on Tuesday at Star City High School.

Neci Hill took the loss for the  Dragonettes. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking one.

Harley Grammer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes in hits. AC Cox led the team with one run batted in. Grammer stole two bases. 

DeWitt Dragonettes Come Up Short Against Sheridan Yellowjackets

03/01/24 

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes lost to Sheridan Yellowjackets 5-2 on Friday at Sylvan Hills High School.

The Dragonettes got on the board in the top of the first inning after Neci Hill doubled, and Sheridan  committed an error, each scoring one run.

Hill took the loss for DeWitt Dragonettes. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up five runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking none. 

Bailey Robison led DeWitt with two hits in two at bats. DeWitt Dragonettes were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. AC Cox made the most plays with three.

 Walk It Off Against Searcy Varsity Lady

Lions

It came down to the wire on Saturday at Sylvan Hills High School, as the Dragonettes grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Searcy Varsity Lady Lions. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the fifth when Khloe Lloyd doubled, scoring one run.

Harley Grammer collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Grammer hit a home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

The Dragonettes jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after AC Cox doubled, scoring one run, and Grammer homered to center field, scoring two runs. 

Hill collected two hits for DeWitt in two at bats.

Neci Hill earned the win for DeWitt Dragonettes. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. 

DeWitt Dragonettes Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Morrilton Lady Devil Dogs

DeWitt Dragonettes took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Morrilton Lady Devil Dogs at Sherwood. Morrilton Lady Devil Dogs lead to 4-1 in the top of the second inning.

The Dragonettes captured the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the fourth after Emma Bazarow singled, Belle Easterwood singled, AC Cox singled, and Harley Grammer singled, scoring one run.

Grammer earned the win for the  Dragonettes. The righty surrendered four hits and six runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking three.

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes's Adley Davis made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in two at bats. Easterwonnod led DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons Surge Past England Varsity Lions Thanks To Big First Inning

DeWitt Varsity Dragons defeated England Varsity Lions 15-0 on Monday thanks in part to 13 runs in the first inning. Hayden McCarley singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Josh Haynes drew a walk, scoring one run, Justin Ross drew a walk, scoring one run, Kaden Pippinger doubled, scoring two runs, Griffin Whitmore drew a walk, scoring one run, Owen St.John doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, and Pippinger singled, scoring one run.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Colton Rhodes doubled, and Caleb Simpson singled, each scoring one run.

G Whitmore earned the win for the Dragons.  The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking none. Landon Simpson tossed one inning of zero-run ball in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

McCarley and Pippinger each collected two hits on the night.  Pippinger went 2-for-2 on the day and led the way with three runs batted in. Whitmore led the Dragons with two walks.

Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. DeWitt Varsity Dragons were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jax Poston had the most chances in the field with eight.

Runners Home In DeWitt Varsity Dragons Victory Over Star City

Varsity Bulldogs

Hayden McCarley drove in seven runs on three hits to lead DeWitt Varsity Dragons past Star City Varsity Bulldogs 15-0 on Tuesday. McCarley hit a home run to left field in the third scoring three, doubled in the fourth scoring two, hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one, and singled to left in the second scoring one.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons got on the board in the top of the second inning after McCarley singled, and Wyatt Jones hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

DeWitt Dragons scored six runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. An error scored two runs, Griffin Whitmore singled, scoring one run, and McCarley homered to left field, scoring three runs.

The Dragons scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Whitmore singled, scoring one run, Owen St.John grounded out, scoring one run, McCarley doubled, scoring two runs, and LaCotts hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Jones earned the win for DeWitt Varsity Dragons. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking two. Caleb Simpson threw one inning of zero-run ball for the Dragons in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

Whitmore and McCarley each collected three hits for DeWitt Varsity Dragons. St.John led DeWitt Varsity Dragons with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. DeWitt Varsity Dragons didn't commit a single error in the field. Landon Simpson had the most chances in the field with eight.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons Come Back To Defeat Stuttgart Varsity

Ricebirds

DeWitt Varsity Dragons trailed by as many as eight, but came back to best Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds on Thursday, 10-9.

Hayden McCarley collected three hits in three at bats in the win. McCarley singled in the fifth inning, doubled in the first inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds got on the board in the top of the first inning after DeWitt Varsity Dragons committed an error, the  Dragons committed an error, and Ross Atkinson walked, each scoring one run.

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Dylan Duncan singled, DeWitt committed an error, and Atkinson singled, each scoring two runs.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 10-9 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Marshaun Bowers that drove in two. Whitmore, StJohn, Jones and LaCotts each had one run batted it with McCarley leading the way with two runs batted in. 

Griffin Whitmore earned the win for DeWitt Varsity Dragons. The right-handed pitcher came to the mound in the fifth inning allowing one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none. McCarley stepped on the mound first for DeWitt Varsity Dragons. The righty allowed zero hits and six runs (three earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking six. Landon Melnychuk started on the mound for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. They allowed five hits and eight runs (six earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking three. Justin Ross appeared in relief for DeWitt Varsity Dragons.

Wyatt Jones collected two hits for DeWitt Varsity Dragons in three at bats. 

Hertzog, Atkinson, Scaife, Feilke, and Duncan each collected one hit for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. Atkinson and Duncan each drove in two runs for Stuttgart. Ricebirds had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Fontenot, Rodgers, and Duncan led the team with two walks each. Scaife stole two bases. 

Wyatt Jones Drives In 5 To Lead DeWitt Varsity Dragons Past

Dumas Bobcats

03/04/24

Wyatt Jones drove in five runs on two hits to lead DeWitt Varsity Dragons past Dumas Bobcats 15-0 on Tuesday. Jones hit a grand slam to left field in the first inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one. 

The Dragons were the first to get on the board and then added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Daigan Burnett hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Hayden McCarley drew a walk, scoring one run, and Trey LaCotts singled, scoring two runs.

DeWitt Varsity Dragons scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Kaden Pippinger doubled, scoring one run, Owen St.John grounded out, scoring one run, Jones singled, scoring one run, Justin Ross was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Landon Simpson drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

McCarley earned the win for DeWitt Varsity Dragons. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking one.  Colton Rhodes pitched one inning of shutout ball for DeWitt Varsity Dragons in relief. The righty allowed one hit, striking out three and walking none.

St.John and Jones each collected two hits for DeWitt Varsity Dragons.
