DeWitt Establishes New Soccer League

Did you know that the origins of soccer could be traced back hundreds of years to China?  I also thought it to be incredible that during a soccer match, players can run up to seven miles and that soccer is the most widely played sport in the world.

Now instead of driving out of town to play this versatile sport, youngsters in DeWitt have the option to play and practice at home.  The Board of Directors had a vision to begin this sport for a while to engage local students and have all surrounding communities participate.  

Sign ups will cost $65 per player, and parents can go to the DeWitt Soccer Association Facebook page for the online link.  In addition, forms will be placed at PCC for pick up, and in person sign ups will take place at PCC on July 7th and 14th from 4:00-6:30 PM. Children ages  4 (as of December 31, 2024) up to 18 years old may participate. The last day to sign up online will be July 20th. 

Games will be played Saturdays and a few weekdays at the old football field. Teams will be drafted and start practicing in August with the season lasting 8-9 weeks beginning September 6th.
