Education Appreciation Awards - Culture Champion-Sara Schroeder

The first award we will present is the Culture Champion. This person is
always championing to create a better and more inclusive culture and works
collaboratively with their team and coworkers to improve their surroundings.

This teacher seeks opportunities for student and staff bonding. She gave
students the opportunity to play drums or practice using the flags from the
high school flag line during recess. She helped set up the student council
elections and student satisfaction survey. Prior to Homecoming she makes
sure all the students know the Alma Mater and band chants so we can all
participate in the pep rally. During the holiday season, this teacher set up
the secret Santa for staff, gathering gift ideas and making sure everyone felt
included. At the end of the year, she oversees the talent show for the
students. This year we had the talent show at the Grand Prairie Center and
she made sure all the students practiced, had mixed music she prepared,
and had props if they were needed. She consistently contributes ideas to
the team and helps to celebrate student and staff success. She is a culture
Queen!
