Ricebirds Soar Over Eagles
The Stuttgart Ricebirds travelled to Crossett to play the Eagles on Friday, October 3. The Ricebirds received the kickoff and Q.T. Johnson returned the ball to the 37-yard line. The Birds get to the 3-yard line but the Eagle defense hold, so the Birds go for a field goal. Dawson McKelvey kicks it and the Birds are first on the scoreboard 3-0.
McKelvey kicks off and the Eagles start at their own 27-yard line. Ricebirds defense force Eagles to punt, and the Birds start on their own 47-yard line. On fourth and one, QB Cain Price keeps the ball and gets to Eagles 42-yard line. Q.T. Johnson gets to the 31-yard line. Jeremiah Thomas gets to the 24-yard line. Price to Jaymarrion Hoard gets to Birds to the 7-yard line. Price hands off to Thomas for a Ricebird touchdown. PAT is good and Birds are up 10-0.

While the referees call two penalties against the Birds to back them up to the 49-yard line, they completely miss the flagrant penalty by Eagles where two Eagle players hit a Ricebird after he is well out of bounds. Having succeeded that time, the Eagle player knocks Price down after he is out of bounds and finally a flag from officials. Price connects with Q.T. for another Ricebird touchdown. PAT is good and the Ricebirds stretch their lead to 31-0.
