Candidate Forum in Stuttgart Canceled After Last-Minute Withdrawal

February 18, 2026

STUTTGART, Ark. — The candidate forum that had been scheduled for tonight, Feb. 18, at the Grand Prairie Center has been canceled following a last-minute withdrawal by one of the featured candidates.

The event, co-sponsored by the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, EAB Media Group, The Stuttgart Daily Leader, and the Era Enterprise, was to feature candidates in the upcoming election, including State Senate District 10 candidates Ronald Caldwell and Trey Bohannan.

According to Chamber President and CEO Bethany Hildebrand, Bohannan canceled his planned appearance shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday, citing a last-minute meeting in Wynne. Hildebrand said Bohannan did not contact her directly about his withdrawal; she learned of it while reaching out to participants as a courtesy reminder ahead of the forum.

Early voting is currently underway for the March 3 general election. Organizers said the forum is not expected to be rescheduled.

The candidate forum had been designed to allow voters in Stuttgart and surrounding communities to hear directly from candidates and ask questions ahead of Election Day.
