Dawn’s Delights

I don’t know about ya’ll but I am really getting tired of the division in our nation. I remember a time when one could , with someone and remain friends. Agree to disagree. These days if you don’t agree with someone, you distance yourself from them, don’t remain friends and move on. What on earth? That isn’t America. The America where the rally for freedom of speech used to be paramount. I think the turn began around 1980, when political correctness became a thing. I knew then, and history has proven me right, that things were going downhill.

I am not sure that there is blame to place on a certain group, political party or other types of people. The blame can be spread all around. No longer are we able to voice our opinions openly, without being attacked for them. Not just verbally attacked either. The bad actors, as they are called, seem to think it is ok to physically attack others who don’t share their opinions. I don’t understand what has happened to our culture, but I can say it isn’t good. Instead of looking for ways to get along they seem to do everything in their power to divide. I truly believe that we have more to unite us than divide us. At least, I pray that is the case. 

We are all uniquely made by God. We have our own personalities, ideas, positive and negative and no one, I mean NO ONE, is better than another. Oh sure, some may act like they are better, but that really doesn’t mean they are better. Jesus was clear in the Bible when he told the disciples to love God and their neighbor, and to treat others as they wish to be treated. How many people do you know who actually practice this? Do you?
