4-H Family Night

4-H Family Night was held on March 9 at Phillips Community College, DeWitt to recognize Arkansas County 4-H members for their project achievements.  There were 87 in attendance representing five 4-H clubs.  Special thanks to the Arkansas County 4-H Foundation for the delicious meal and food preparations by Summit Utilities volunteers and the Arkansas County Extension Homemakers. 
Warren Jennings Jr., Arkansas County 4-H Foundation president, presented awards to seven youth completing their 4-H Record Books. 

  • Seniors – Daniel Danner, Service Learning; Teegan Henry, Photography; Katy Smith, Leadership 
  • Intermediates – Halleigh Doepel, Animal Science; Collin Smith – Service Learning  
  • Beginners – Maci Chappell - Gardening , Liam Doepel  - Animal Science
Other recognized were:
Poultry Chain - Maci Chappell-Grand Champion; Ben Tripplett-Reserve Champion; Emalee Ballon, Sam Bennett, Harper Cummings, Halleigh Doepel, Liam Doepel, Landon Watkins, Philip Watkins, Ensley Young and Holden Young.

Shooting Sports – Jackson Allen, Charlie Howell, Landyn Watkins, Caleb Hartsoe
Sr. County Champion, Jr. County Champion, Honor Clubs, Champion Club and Outstanding 4-H Leader awards were announced by Grant Beckwith, County Extension Agent-Staff Chair and Warren Jennings, Jr.

  • County Champion Club – Clover Kids 4-H Club
  • Outstanding 4-H Leader – Heather Henry, Clover Kids 4-H Club
  • Sr. County Champion – Teegan Henry
  • Jr . County Champion – Collin Smith 
Teegan Henry, a member of Clover Kids 4-H Club said “4-H has changed me for the better. Because of 4-H, I have met so many new people, made many lifelong friends, and had so many new experiences”.
