Person of Interest Arrested in Easter Shooting

The Stuttgart Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred during the Easter in the Gart event. This was a car show and dog show held at the Holman Community Center.

At approximately 07:21 p.m., calls began coming into dispatch reporting shots fired behind Holman School. Officers responded immediately and were advised of injuries already headed to the hospital.

With the assistance of the Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office, the area was quickly secured and cleared to prevent any further incidents. At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the public.

After an extensive search, a person of interest was arrested and taken in for questioning. The victim was taken to Baptist Health - Stuttgart and is expected to make a full recovery.
