Free Camp Helps Arkansas Children Cope with Grief
LITTLE ROCK, Ark – Methodist Family Health’s Kaleidoscope Grief Center is now accepting applications for its free family grief camp, Camp Healing Hearts, which will be held on Saturday, May 9, on the campus of Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock.
Losing a loved one is difficult for everyone, and grieving is vital to accepting painful feelings and establishing a new sense of normalcy. Camp Healing Hearts is for children in Arkansas, ages 5 to 18, and their families who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Families have opportunities to discover their inner strength through therapeutic activities like fishing, crafts and heartfelt conversations.
Camp Healing Hearts is available at no cost to Arkansas families through donations to Methodist Family Health Foundation. The camp is ideal for families who have experienced a loss more than six months ago, and an adult caregiver must accompany grieving children attending the camp.
Only 100 spaces are available. To apply, complete the form online at MethodistFamily.org/Camp-Healing-Hearts. The application deadline is April 24.
