Stuttgart Varsity Lady Ricebirds Fall After Strong Showing By White Hall
Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds had trouble keeping up with White Hall in an 11-0 loss on Monday.
White Hall jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Carter Ayers homered to center field, scoring two runs, Allie Rushing singled, scoring two runs, and Emma Ratliff doubled, scoring one run.
White Hall added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Ayers laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and Rushing singled, scoring two runs.
Hali Watkins led things off in the circle for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs (two earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Ayers opened the game for White Hall. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.
MyKayla Hale and Lily Griffin each collected one hit for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds turned one double play in the game.
White Hall tallied 11 hits in the game. Lilly Eubanks, Sophie Stone, and Rushing each collected two hits for White Hall. Rushing led White Hall with four runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. White Hall were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ratliff had the most chances in the field with eight.
