Stuttgart Ricebirds Impressive In Win Against Carlisle Varsity Bison
Stuttgart Ricebirds easily dispatched Carlisle Varsity Bison on Monday, 13-6.
Stuttgart Ricebirds opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Stuttgart Ricebirds first got on the board when Harper Feilke singled, scoring one run.
A single by Jay Griffin, and a fielder's choice by Beau Barnes helped Stuttgart Ricebirds extend their early lead in the second.
Stuttgart Ricebirds scored six runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Nathan Spoon singled, scoring three runs, Austin Au.Fontenot singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and a passed ball scored one run.
Hayden Prine started on the hill for Stuttgart Ricebirds. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Eli Hutson started on the hill for Carlisle Varsity Bison. The hurler gave up five hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Spoon, Dagan Duncan, Griffin, Barnes, and Axton McCrea each came on in relief for Stuttgart Ricebirds and shutdown Carlisle Varsity Bison.
