First Electric and Connect2First Visit Local Schools
First Electric Cooperative and Connect2First treated DeWitt Elementary third graders to an outdoor pizza party on Monday, April 6, 2026. Students were served by First Electric employees Emily Belcher, Sheila Ponder, Meghan Jackson, Kevin Smith, and Colby Calvert. First Electric mascot Willie Wirehand even made an appearance to help announce Christianna Bennett as the winner of their annual art contest. Bennett was awarded with a Kindle Fire tablet and applause from her fellow classmates. Willie stayed to give high-fives and dance with the students. Students worked on contest entries during art class after a visit from Belcher and lineman Greg Yarbrough in February.
First Electric and Connect2First also visited the students at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Stuttgart on Thursday, April 2nd.
Each student got a chance to try on safety gear and learn why it’s so important for keeping their crews safe every day. They also allowed students to gear up and get a feel for what it's like to climb a pole by using their custom pole trailer, which is safe for everyone!
All the children and teachers at Holy Rosary enjoyed their visit and look forward to the next time.
